Beverly Resident Enters Plea to
Marijuana Conspiracy Charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 31 year old Beverly, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on October 27, 2011, in United States District Court in Elkins before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: GREGORY STEPHEN SCOTT entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with conspiracy to distribute marijuana in the Fall of 2010 in Randolph County, West Virginia. As part of his plea, SCOTT agrees to the forfeiture of $18,068 in United States currency, three cellular telephones and marijuana paraphernalia seized from him on December 14, 2010. SCOTT, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 5 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by officers of the West Virginia State Police-Franklin Detachment.
