Clarksburg Resident Enters Plea in Federal Court

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 25 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty in United States District Court on October 25, 2011, in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: LITA SMALLWOOD entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging her with the distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a protected location on May 5, 2011, in Harrison County, West Virginia. SMALLWOOD, who is on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum of 1 to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by agents of the Harrison County Drug Task Force consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department and the Bridgeport Police Department.
