Two Individuals Were Sentenced
During the Month of March
for Federal Supervised Release Violations

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced the recent sentencings of two individuals after their supervised release was revoked for various violations.

The specific information is as follows:

JOHN EDWARD KING, age 49, of Wheeling, West Virginia, was sentenced by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr., to 36 months imprisonment for testing positive for the use of cocaine,
possession with intent to distribute marijuana on February 8, 2012, and possession of crack cocaine on February 28, 2012. KING was originally sentenced in March of 2007 to 116 months imprisonment to be followed by four years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute in excess of 5 grams of crack cocaine and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. KING’s sentence was reduced to 69 months imprisonment on November 1, 2011, and KING was released on December 2, 2011, after a reduction in his sentence pursuant to the Fair Sentencing Act. KING was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. The United States Attorney’s Office was represented at the hearing by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr.

TAMMY GREEN, age 46, of Wheeling was sentenced by Judge Stamp to 15 months imprisonment for testing positive for the use of narcotics and numerous failures to attend counseling and meetings. GREEN was originally sentenced in October of 2006 to 54 months imprisonment to be followed by six years of supervised release for the distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a protected location. In 2008, GREEN’s sentence was reduced to 44 months imprisonment pursuant to the crack re-sentencing guidelines. GREEN was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. The United States Attorney’s Office was represented at the hearing by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr.

The United States Probation Office carries out probation and pretrial services functions throughout the Northern District of West Virginia. With locations in Wheeling, Clarksburg, Martinsburg, and Elkins, the office works to assist the federal courts in the fair administration of justice, to protect the community, and to bring about long-term positive change in individuals under supervision.
