Moorefield Resident Enters Plea in Federal Court

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA - A 33-year old Moorefield West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on April 24, 2012, in United States District Court in Elkins before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: JOSHUA ERIC SPERLING entered a plea of guilty to one count of possession of material used in the manufacture of methamphetamine on December 1, 2011, in Grant County, West Virginia. SPERLING, who is on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by the United States Forest Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, the West Virginia State Police and the Petersburg Police Dept.
