Five Individuals Enter Pleas of Guilty on Methamphetamine Charges

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA - Five individuals entered pleas of guilty on December 11,
2012, in United States District Court in Elkins before Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:

ARCHIE RAY ARBOGAST, age 36, of Dunmoore, West Virginia, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Material Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on September
25, 2012, in Randolph County, West Virginia. ARBOGAST, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. T h i s c a s e w a s investigated by the United States Forest Service, the West Virginia State Police and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.

ANDREW CARR, age 18, of Lahmansville, West Virginia, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Material Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on June 3, 2012, in Grant County, West Virginia. CARR, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. This case was investigated by the United States Forest Service, the West Virginia State Police and the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.

STEVEN B. MILLER a/k/a “PASCO,” age 39, of Dryfork, West Virginia, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Material Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on June
4, 2012, in Randolph County. MILLER, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

SHALAE BROOKE STUDER, age 21, of Elkins, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Pseudoephedrine to be Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on June 3, 2012, in Randolph County. STUDER, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

BRIAN KEITH HAMMER, age 51, of Elkins, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Pseudoephedrine to be Used in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine on June 3, 2012, in Randolph County. HAMMER, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

This case was investigated by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, the West
Virginia State Police and the United States Forest Service.

These cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner.
