Fifteen Individuals Sentenced in Federal Court

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - Fifteen individuals were sentenced last week in United States District Court in Martinsburg by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:

D’ANGELO ALSTON, age 25, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was sentenced to 140 months imprisonment to be followed by four years of supervised release. ALSTON entered pleas of guilty on November 9, 2011, to two counts of an Indictment charging him with one count of possession of a firearm on May 4, 2011, in Berkeley County, after having previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year and one count of possession with intent to distribute 123.6 grams of crack cocaine on May 10, 2011, during a traffic stop by the Martinsburg Police Department. ALSTON was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal, pending designation to a Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Martinsburg Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

ROBERT GLENN HARE, age 47, of Ridgely, West Virginia, was sentenced to 120 months imprisonment to be followed by ten years of supervised release. HARE entered a plea of guilty on October 20, 2011, to one count of possession of in excess of 20,000 images and in excess of 100 videos of child pornography on December 17, 2009, in Mineral County. As part of his plea, HARE agrees to the forfeiture of a Compaq desktop computer, containing one Western Digital HD; one Dell desktop computer containing one Seagate hard drive; one IBM Laptop computer containing one Hitachi hard drive; and two other hard drives. HARE was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. STEVEN CRAIG MCDANIEL, age 30, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 100 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. MCDANIEL entered pleas of guilty on October 14, 2011, to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride and one count of possession of a firearm in relation to a drug offense. On June 11, 2010, during a search warrant conducted at MCDANIEL’s residence, agents seized 348.2 grams of cocaine and a Glock pistol. MCDANIEL was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow and was investigated by agents of the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg Police Department, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.

ROBERT ROOSEFELT FISHER, age 61, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 84 months imprisonment to be followed by six years of supervised release. FISHER entered a plea of guilty on September 30, 2011, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of the Winchester Avenue Elementary School in Martinsburg on October 15, 2009. FISHER was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Erin K. Reisenweber and was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.

THOMAS POWELL DOVE, age 32, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. DOVE entered a plea of guilty on September 27, 2011, to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin on August 2, 2010, in Martinsburg. DOVE was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow and was investigated by uniformed officers of the West Virginia State Police and the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.

FRITZLER F. THOMAS, age 42, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment to be followed by ten years of supervised release. THOMAS entered a plea of guilty on August 15, 2012, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of the North Middle School in Martinsburg on March 17, 2008. THOMAS was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow and was investigated by Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.

ACIENTO WILLIAMS, age 37, of Baltimore, Maryland, was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment to be followed by four years of supervised release. WILLIAMS entered a plea of guilty on September 14, 2009, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine on May 29, 2009. WILLIAMS will self-report to the designated Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

LARRY EUGENE GOLLIDAY, age 35, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. GOLLIDAY entered a plea of guilty on March 1, 2010, to one count of felon in possession of firearms on March 31, 2008, after having been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. GOLLIDAY will self-report to the designated Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

MICHAEL CAPE, age 35, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. CAPE entered a plea of guilty on November 10, 2011, to one count of an Indictment charging him with robbing the BB&T Bank in Martinsburg on July 21, 2011. CAPE was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti. The case was investigated by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

CARL DOUGLAS MEYER, age 50, of Charles Town, West Virginia, was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. MEYER entered a plea of guilty on September 12, 2011, to one count of mail fraud by mailing a list of items for sale to a customer. MEYER devised a scheme to sell forged autographs of sports celebrities and used the mail to send the merchandise and receive payment from customers. MEYER will self-report to the designated Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service.

VINCENT TYRONE GLOVER, age 42, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. GLOVER entered a plea of guilty on August 22, 2011 to one count of conspiracy to prepare false tax returns and one count of preparing false tax returns. GLOVER took advantage of his position as a tax return preparer to prepare false returns which he submitted to the IRS and through which he received $141,298 in false tax refunds. GLOVER will self-report to the designated Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations and the West Virginia State Police.

DEBRA IRENE SNOW, age 52 of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. SNOW entered a plea of guilty on September 9, 2011, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine on August 14, 2008, in Martinsburg. SNOW will self-report to the designated Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow and was investigated by agents of the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.

ANNE MARIE ALSTON, age 30, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was sentenced to 7 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. ALSTON entered a plea of guilty on November 7, 2011, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine on April 21, 2011, in Berkeley County. ALSTON will self-report to the designated Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Martinsburg Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the West Virginia State Police and the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.

JARRED BARCLAY, age 27, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. BARCLAY entered a plea of guilty on October 24, 2011, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine on August 7, 2008, in Martinsburg. BARCLAY will self-report to the designated Federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow and was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.
