Two Clarksburg Residents Sentenced in Federal Court

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two Clarksburg, West Virginia, residents were sentenced on January 23, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:

DAVID ALLEN JONES, age 29, was sentenced to 84 months imprisonment to be followed by six years of supervised release. DAVID JONES entered a plea of guilty on October 7, 2011, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of the Monticello Avenue playground and the Harrison Street playground in Clarksburg on May 27, 2011.

DONNA M. JONES, age 32, was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment to be followed by six years of supervised release. DONNA JONES entered a plea of guilty on October 7, 2011, to one count of distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of the Monticello Avenue playground and the Harrison Street playground in Clarksburg on May 24, 2011.

Both defendants were remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the Harrison County Task Force consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the Bridgeport Police Department.
