Detroit Resident Sentenced on Firearms Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 34 year old Detroit, Michigan, resident was sentenced on March 26, 2012, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: JOSEPH SAMUEL HALL was sentenced to 80 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. HALL was convicted on January 20, 2012, after a three-day jury trial before Judge Stamp, on one count of possession of a firearm on February 27, 2011, in Triadelphia, West Virginia, after having previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year. HALL was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys David J. Perri and Michael D. Stein and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
