Two USP Hazelton Inmates Enter Pleas and are
Sentenced in Federal Court
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two USP Hazleton inmates entered pleas of guilty and were sentenced recently in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:
FRANKIE CORREA, age 34, entered a plea of guilty to Assaulting a Correctional Officer Resulting in Injury at USP Hazleton on March 12, 2011. CORREA assaulted the officer by punching him in the face three times, causing the officer to suffer a busted lip and loose tooth. CORREA was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment to be served consecutively with his current 100-month sentence. This case was investigated by the Special Investigative Services Staff at USP Hazleton and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
LONNEL PORTER, 28, entered a plea of guilty to Assaulting a Correctional Officer Resulting in Injury at USP Hazleton on May 5, 2012. PORTER assaulted the officer by punching him in the face several times, causing the officer to suffer a cut to his nose and bruising to his head and neck. PORTER was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment to be served consecutively with his current 104-month sentence. This case was investigated by the Special Investigative Services Staff at USP Hazleton.
These cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brandon S. Flower.
