 WYOMING COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON ON FEDERAL DRUG CHARGES

BECKLEY, W.Va. – Michael Aaron Blankenship, 29, of Mullens, Wyoming County, West Virginia, was sentenced today to 80 months in prison by United States District Judge Irene C. Berger for distribution of methamphetamine.  Blankenship pleaded guilty in March.  The defendant admitted that on April 22, 2010, he sold 1.28 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover police officer in Bradley, Raleigh County, West Virginia.  Blankenship further admitted that he had manufactured methamphetamine on about 20 different occasions. 

This case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations.  Assistant United States Attorney John File handled the prosecution.
