FAYETTE COUNTY MAN SENTENCED ON FEDERAL DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – James Davidson, 36, of Scarbro, Fayette County, West Virginia, was sentenced yesterday to 15 days’ imprisonment and six months in a treatment program by United States District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr. for possession of methamphetamine.  The defendant pleaded guilty in July.  This was Davidson’s third drug-related conviction. Davidson admitted that on May 4, 2010, he illegally possessed methamphetamine that was not obtained directly or pursuant to a valid prescription or order from a doctor.  Troopers with the West Virginia State Police executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence where they found the quantity of methamphetamine.

This case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.  Assistant United States Attorney John File handled the prosecution.
