OHIO MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON ON FEDERAL DRUG CHARGE
BECKLEY, W.Va. – Marvin Keaton, 29, of Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced yesterday to 80 months in prison by United States District Judge Irene C. Berger for possession with intent to distribute cocaine. On March 29, 2010, the Beckley Drug Unit executed a search warrant at Keaton’s motel room in Beckley, West Virginia. During the search, officers found 12 grams of cocaine and approximately 54 grams of crack cocaine that Keaton admitted he brought to Beckley to sell. Keaton admitted that he possessed a firearm which was found in the motel room at the time. The defendant also admitted that in April and May 2010, he sold about 8.83 grams of crack cocaine to an individual cooperating with law enforcement.
This case was investigated by the Beckley Drug Unit. Assistant United States Attorney John File handled the prosecution.
