Craig Cheney, 46, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge William F. Downes on April 27, 2011, for failure to register as a sex offender. Cheney received thirteen months imprisonment, to be followed by fifteen years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and a $500.00 fine. This case was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Pascual Salina-Torres, 20, of Oaxaca, Mexico, and Fernando Castillo-Lopez, 27 of Houston, Texas, were sentenced in Federal District Court on April 27, 2011, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Both defendants received time served plus ten days, to be followed by one year of supervised release, were ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and are subject to deportation upon release from custody. These cases were investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Miguel Gerardo Castro-Perez, 26 of Jackson, Wyoming and Tlaxcala, Mexico, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on April 26, 2011, for distribution of two kilograms of cocaine, illegal alien in possession of a firearm and illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Castro-Perez received 63 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, was ordered to pay a $300 fine and is subject to deportation upon release from custody. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Noe Sanchez-Perez, 30, of Jackson, Wyoming and Tlaxcala, Mexico, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on April 25, 2011, for distribution of 500 grams of cocaine and illegal re-entry of an illegal alien into the United States. Sanchez-Perez received 37 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, was ordered to pay a $200.00 fine and is subject to deportation upon release from custody. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Michelle Clark, 39, of Westminster, Colorado, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal on April 21, 2011, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute between 50 and 200 grams of methamphetamine. Clark received 60 months of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $200.00 fine. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Chelcie Brummond, 22, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal on April 21, 2011, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute between 50 and 200 grams of methamphetamine. Brummond received 60 months of imprisonment, to be followed by four years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $200.00 fine. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Miguel Torres-Zuniga, 29, of the Republic of Mexico, was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge William F. Downes on April 20, 2011, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Torres-Zuniga received ten months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and is subject to deportation upon release from prison. The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Daniel Orantas-Martinez, 23, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal on April 19, 2011, for illegal alien in possession of a firearm. Orantas-Martinez received 13 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and is subject to deportation upon release from custody. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Miguel Vasquez-Vasquez, 22, of Apisaco, Tlaxcala, Mexico; Santiago Chino-Matamoros, 36, of Puebla, Puebla, Mexico; Fabian Alvarez-Mendoza, 23, of Galeana, Chihuahua, Mexico; Basilio Vazquez-Medina, 28, of Tepatlaxco, Puebla, Mexico; and David Berumen-Escobedo, 28, of Durango, Durango, Mexico, were sentenced in Federal District Court last week for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. All defendants received time served plus ten days, were ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and are subject to deportation upon release from custody. These cases were investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
