Charles Lester Bass,, 34, of Moorcroft, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on September 15, 2011, for being an unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. Bass was arrested in Natrona County, Wyoming. He received 15 months of imprisonment, to be followed by two years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
James Lloyd Whitley, 47, of Lander, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Clarence A. Brimmer on September 9, 2011, for felon in possession of a firearm. Whitley was arrested in Lander, Wyoming. He received 24 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Randy Colpitts, 51, of Casper, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on September 1, 2011, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute at least 500 grams of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. Colpitts was arrested in Casper, Wyoming. He received 120 months of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
