CHEYENNE, WY - U.S. Attorney Christopher A. Crofts announced that on December 12, 2011,Roy D. Shamblen, a twenty-six year old Northern Arapaho Tribal member from the Wind River Indian Reservation, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal to 96 months imprisonment, three years of supervised release, $200 in court costs, and restitution to be determined at a later date. Shamblen was indicted by a federal grand jury in July, 2011 and in October, he pleaded guilty to the charges. The conviction on the charges of involuntary manslaughter and assault resulting in serious bodily injury stem from the defendant’s negligent actions in a motor vehicle accident that took place on May 31, 2011.
