Embezzlement or Conversion of Monies

CHEYENNE, WY - On January 6, 2012, Melody St. Clair, a 65-year-old, former Northern Arapaho Department of Social Services Finance Administrator, from the Wind River Indian Reservation, appeared in Federal District Court for sentencing before Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson. St. Clair pleaded guilty to one count of embezzling or conversion of monies from an organization receiving federal funds and aiding and abetting. St. Clair received five months of imprisonment, to be followed by two years probation and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. Based upon the request from the Northern Arapaho Business Council, the Court did not order restitution. This case was investigated by the Department of the Interior and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
