Sentences for May 17 - May 23, 2012

Brandon Alexander Oblander, 22, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on May 23, 2012, for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Oblander was arrested in Torrington, Wyoming. He received 40 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release. McSherry was also ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and $500.00 fine. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Joseph Golden, 32, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on May 21, 2012, for distribution of child pornography. Golden was arrested in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He received 60 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 15 years of supervised release, was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment, a $700.00 fine and restitution in the amount of $300.00. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Miguel Gutierrez-Zurita, 27, of Sheridan, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on May 18, 2012, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute methamphetamine. Gutierrez-Zurita was arrested in Sheridan, Wyoming. He received 70 months of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and a $200.00 fine. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Fidel Rubio-Rios, 26, of Sheridan, Wyoming was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on May 17, 2012, on one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute methamphetamine; one count of possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and adding and abetting; and one count of possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Rubio-Rios was arrested in Sheridan, Wyoming. He received 188 months of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $300.00 special assessment and a $700.00 fine. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
