
Northern Arapaho Man Sentenced For Abusive Sexual Contact of A Child
United States Attorney Christopher A. Crofts announced today that on December 5, 2012, Michael James Gould, a 34-year-old enrolled Northern Arapaho from the Wind River Indian Reservation, appeared in Federal District Court for sentencing before Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on a single count of Abusive Sexual Contact of a Child. The charge carried a maximum penalty of up to life imprisonment, a $250,000.00 fine, or both; supervised release of not less than five (5) years to life; restitution; and a $100.00 special assessment. Gould received 204 months of imprisonment, to be followed by a life-term of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and a $500.00 fine. The charge stemmed from an offense which occurred between April 2, 2006, and April 1, 2007, on the Wind River Indian Reservation and involved an 8-year-old victim. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
