My family lives 3 blocks from the World Trade Center Site in Battery Park
City and I believe that all of us living within a 5 or 6 block radius should
receive some type of compensation. My family has insurance and most damage
has been covered. But we estimate that we will have spent $3,000 to $4,000 of
our own money on insurance deductibles, therapy sessions (due to the horror
we experienced that day) and other extras that insurance doesn't cover. We
are victims also and it isn't fair that we will have to live in this area (we
own our apartment- property value is another issue ) and be reminded of the
disaster every day, not to mention the inconveniences we must now endure due
to businesses and public transportation being destroyed or renovated. Please
support our community and don't forget the living victims. Thank you,
