don't add insult to tragedy.
please don't add insult to tragedy by not compensating the partners of gay and lesbian people who died on Sept. 11. was surely a hero and saved countless lives through his actions. but even the folks who couldn't do anything - their partners and our country mourns them too, with the same depth of pain and grief. if there's compensation to be given out, it should be given out with justice. you know, justice, as in "Justice" Department.
if we can go above and beyond the law to compensate families of illegal aliens, which i feel we should, then we should go above and beyond the law to compensate these folks' partners and families, even if law doesn't yet recognize them as such.
i am so weary of hatred and division. i think that's how the world got in this mess in the first place, huh?
