GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN – U.S. Attorney Donald A. Davis announced that Stephen Graham-Wright, 21, a resident of Big Rapids, Michigan, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert J. Jonker to the statutory maximum of 30 years in federal prison on charges of sexual exploitation of a child.

Graham-Wright was arrested on October 31, 2010 on state charges of criminal sexual conduct before being charged federally. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (“ICE HSI”) special agents conducted forensic examinations of the computers and other digital media belonging to Graham-Wright, which revealed video footage of Graham-Wright and a minor child engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

U.S. Attorney Donald A. Davis said “The defendant in this case sexually molested a young child and made movies of that activity and left a victim whose life is forever changed. This crime is reprehensible and cannot and will not be tolerated; individuals engaged in such conduct will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Brian M. Moskowitz, Special Agent in Charge of ICE HSI in Detroit, Michigan, added that: “This sentence is a clear demonstration of the consequences awaiting those who sexually exploit children, either physically or through digital media, or, as in this case, through both. ICE HSI will continue its aggressive efforts to identify and arrest those like Graham-Wright who prey on children.”

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie Woods and investigated by the Grand Rapids Office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations..
