WASHINGTON, D.C. – W. Clarkson McDow, Jr., has been reappointed by the Attorney General as United States Trustee for South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia (Region 4), the Director of the Executive Office for United States Trustees announced today.

“Mr. McDow is tremendously skilled in working with others in constructive and practical ways, and he is well-known and well respected both within and outside of the Program,” Director Cliff White stated. “His many years of experience in overseeing Region 4 have given him a broad perspective on Program priorities and operations that is invaluable to his colleagues and to the bankruptcy community.”

Mr. McDow was first appointed as U.S. Trustee for Region 4 in June 1994, and was reappointed in June 1999. From January 2005 through November 2005, Mr. McDow served as Acting Assistant Director for Review and Oversight in the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees, supervising the Program’s private trustee oversight activities. Mr. McDow received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and his law degree from the University of South Carolina Law School in Columbia, S.C.
