WASHINGTON, D.C. – Charles F. McVay of Centennial, Colorado, who serves as United States Trustee for Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming (Region 19), is also serving as United States Trustee for southern and western Texas (Region 7) for an interim period, the United States Trustee Program announced today. He replaces United States Trustee Richard W. Simmons, who died suddenly on July 7, 2006, after leading Region 7 since 1994.

Mr. McVay received his law degree from Louisiana State University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University.

The U.S. Trustee Program is the component of the Justice Department that protects the integrity of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the bankruptcy laws.

The U.S. Trustee Program has 21 regions and 95 field offices. Region 7 is headquartered in Houston with additional offices in Austin, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio, Texas.
