Two Arrested in Shreveport on Federal FEMA Fraud Charges

Two Florida residents passing themselves off as Hurricane Katrina evacuees in order to fraudulently obtain FEMA relief funds were arrested today in Shreveport on charges of conspiracy, theft of federal funds, and mail and wire fraud, United States Attorney Donald W. Washington announced. KENNETH M. HODGE, age 33, and VERONICA JAEGER, age 22, both from Florida, were arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.. (Read more)

A St. Louis area man has been charged in a federal criminal complaint with stealing money from the United States government based on a false claim made to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for $2,000 in relief funds available to victims of Hurricane Katrina, United States Attorney Catherine L.
