The Oakdale Immigration Court falls under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge which is a component of the Executive Office for Immigration Review under the Department of Justice. Oakdale is 45 miles south of Alexandria and 60 miles north of Lake Charles. Detainees are housed at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), 5010 East Whatley Road, the Federal Detention Center (FDC), 5060 East Whatley Road, and several parish jails within the state of Louisiana. (1)  The Court's business hours are:         Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (front lobby opens 8:15). (2)  The filing window closes promptly at 3:30 p.m. (3)  The Court does not accept faxes. Federal Express deliveries are made between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily. Please be advised effective January 1, 2011 the Oakdale Immigration Court will no longer accept filings at its P.O. Box 750, Oakdale, Louisiana 71463.

Directions

Following are directions to the Immigration Court - Oakdale, Louisiana. For your convenience, we have also provided a link to a free mapping service.

From Alexandria International Airport:

1. Leave Airport on "Billy Mitchell Blvd" and proceed to "Vanderburg Drive."
2. Go South on Vanderburg Drive to LA-28 (Coliseum Blvd.)
3. Turn East (left) on LA-28 and go to US Highway 71 and 165 South (also MacArthur Dr.)
4. Turn South (right) onto US 71 and 165 South and proceed to "Lake Charles" exit, Highway 165-S (Masonic Drive)
5. Stay in right hand lane and exit traffic circle to the Right or South onto Highway 165.
6. Proceed south through several communities (40 minutes).
7. As you approach the north boundary of Oakdale, where Highway 165 is divided into 5 lanes, turn East (left) onto Whatley Road.
8. Cross railroad tracks and proceed to the Federal Correctional Complex sign.
9. Turn right into the federal complex and continue to the Second building on the Right where sign identifies the Immigration Court.

From Lake Charles Regional Airport:

1. Exit Lake Charles Regional Airport via "Airport Blvd"
2. Turn North (left) onto LA-385 (Gulf Highway)
3. Turn East (right) onto McNeese Street
4. Turn North (left) onto LA-14 (Tom Hebert Road)
5. Turn NE (right) onto I-210 and proceed toward I-10
6. Take "Lafayette" exit to I-10
7. Proceed East on I-10 to "Alexandria" exit onto US-165 North
8. Proceed North on US-165 approximately 40 miles
9. As you enter the city limits of Oakdale, proceed north
10. Turn East (right) onto Whatley Road
11. Turn right into the federal complex
12. Second building on the right is the court
