Statement By Attorney General Holder on the Planned
Departure of Deputy Director of Public Affairs Gina Talamona

For Immediate Release
Office of Public Affairs

Attorney General Eric Holder issued the following statement today on the planned departure of Deputy Director of Public Affairs Gina Talamona, who will begin work as the Communications Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission next month:

“For 27 years, Gina Talamona has been a tremendous asset to the Department of Justice and an exceptionally dedicated public servant. She’s been the backbone of our dedicated Office of Public Affairs team, providing leadership and sound guidance to Attorneys General and other leaders from administrations of both parties. Although I join my colleagues in congratulating Gina on her important new role at the Securities and Exchange Commission – and wish her nothing but the best – I will miss her wise counsel, her sense of humor, and her considerable contributions on behalf of the American people. She is a dear friend upon whom I have relied during all my time at the Department.”
