The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas embraces its commitment to the protection of our children. Advances in technology over the past two decades have brought about new challenges for parents, educators, and law enforcement. No longer are our children safe from exploitation and abuse in their own homes. As a result, the United States Department of Justice launched Project Safe Childhood (PSC) in 2006 to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. The threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of perpetrators who produce, distribute, and possess child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing.
Project Safe Childhood is implemented through a partnership of U.S. Attorneys, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task forces, the FBI, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Marshals Service, and state and local law enforcement officials in each U.S. Attorney's district. Project Safe Childhood for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas also includes partnerships with advocacy organizations such as the Little Rock Children's Protection Center and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The collaborative efforts of PSC facilitates the sharing of resources and ensures that the most dangerous offenders are prosecuted.
The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas is committed to the safety and well-being of every child and has placed a high priority on combating sexual exploitation of minors. Through a network of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and advocacy organizations, PSC coordinates efforts to protect our children by investigating and prosecuting online sexual predators.
