Limited English Proficiency Policy
We at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Idaho believe in teamwork, open communication, and professionalism in serving all of the cultural groups of our Community.
The District of Idaho appreciates its minority groups, the largest of which are Spanish-speaking individuals. We are committed to ensuring that our services are easily accessible to all Limited English Proficiency (LEP) persons. Therefore, the following considerations are provided to all persons:
- When contacting or visiting the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho, persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) may either secure the assistance of an interpreter of their own choosing at their own expense, or they may inquire of the U.S. Attorney’s Office about other arrangements for language assistance.
- The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho will take reasonable steps to ensure that where needed, all interpretation and translation services will be handled through individuals who are competent to provide such services at a level of fluency, comprehension, and confidentiality appropriate to the purpose.
- The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho has in place personnel capable of providing assistance in Spanish, French, German, and Portugese. All other language assistance will be addressed as needed.

Mission Statement: The Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs is a non-partisan state agency. Providing services to the Hispanic Community and serving as a liaison between the community and government entities. Working toward economic, educational, and social equality, the Commission identifies and monitors programs and legislation, and researches problems and issues facing Idaho’s Hispanic community. The Commission identifies solutions and provides recommendations to the governor, legislature, and other organizations concerning issues facing the State’s Hispanic population.
