About the District of Maryland

District of Maryland SealThe United States Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland includes 80 Assistant United States Attorneys and 80 support personnel.

The Civil Division, located in Baltimore, defends agencies of the United States when sued in court, prosecutes civil enforcement activities in a variety of fraud matters and collects debts owed to the United States.

The Criminal Division includes 42 prosecutors in Baltimore and 21 prosecutors in Greenbelt.

The Administrative Division supports the ligiation activities of the civil and criminal divisions, ensures compliance with Department of Justice rules and regulations and coordinate other law enforcement support and victim witness activities.
