November 2009

11/12 For the crime of Counterfeiting, William J. Johnson, Jr. was sentenced to serve 20 months in a federal prison.
11/12 Marquita Jensen, age 23 of Omaha, plead guilty to two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Bank Robbery.
11/10 Geoffery Essay was sentenced to a prison term totaling 147 months for bank robbery and brandishing a weapon during a crime of violence.
11/09 A. J. Kelly was sentenced to serve 115 months in prison following his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
11/03 Christian Quevedo, age 27, and Carlos Carpio, age 27, both of Lincoln, Nebraska were indicted by a federal grand jury on tax fraud charges.
11/03 Terrell Lamar McGhee was sentenced to 66 months imprisonment following his conviction for Possession with Intent to Distribute more than 5 grams of Crack Cocaine.
11/03 Christopher Lang sentenced to 12 years and six months imprisonment following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
11/02 For being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm on February 3, 2009, Curtis Duane Brown was sentenced to serve 60 months in prison.

10/21 For having been a Felon in Possession of a Firearm on October 25, 2008, James Anthony Howard was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison.
10/19 David L. Johnson was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment following his conviction for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute more than 5 grams of Crack Cocaine.
10/19 Jeremy Flemke, age 34 of Bellevue, was sentenced for receiving and distributing child pornography.
10/16 Cynthia Ellis was sentenced following her conviction for defrauding the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
10/13 Carl Pressler, age 31 of Omaha, entered a plea of guilty to receiving child pornography.
10/09 Edward Lovejoy, age 25 of Macy, was sentenced to 12 years in prison following his convictions for assault on a federal officer, using a firearm during the commission of a federal crime, and assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
10/09 Thomas David Borrego was sentenced to 121 months imprisonment following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.
10/09 Lamar Bertucci, age 40 of Winnebago, was sentenced to 1 year and 1 day in prison following his conviction for the illegal possession of eagle feathers.
10/09 Devon Smith was sentenced to 2 years in prison following her conviction for transporting a minor across state lines for purposes of engaging in prostitution.
10/05 Mitchell L. Schultz, 51, of Norfolk, Nebraska, was sentenced to a 72-month term of imprisonment for receiving child pornography.
10/05 On October 5, 2009, Gary S. Maddox, age 41 of Omaha, entered a plea of guilty to subscribing to a false Individual Income Tax Return for the 2005 tax year.
10/05 Sheena James, age 27 of Omaha, was sentenced to 48 months in prison following her conviction for involvement in the “straw purchase” of firearms.
10/05 Luis Izara-Perez, 33, of Mexico, was sentenced for illegally entering the United States after a previous deportation.
10/05 For being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm on January 27, 2009, LeRoy Bell, Jr. was sentenced to serve 52 months in prison.
10/01 Deborah Gilg was sworn in as United States Attorney for the District of Nebraska by the Honorable Joseph F. Bataillon, Chief Judge of the United States District Court.

September 2009

09/30 Travis J. Lock sentenced to 63 months imprisonment following his conviction for possession of stolen firearms.
09/29 Willie Sturgis sentenced to 21 years and10 months in imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release for his part in a Conspiracy to Distribute Crack Cocaine.
09/29 Chevelle Lashone Stancle sentenced to 10 years eight months in prison for conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of crack cocaine and 500 grams or more of cocaine in Nebraska.
09/29 Darius Christian was sentenced to 148 months imprisonment following his conviction for Distribution of more than 5 grams of Crack Cocaine.
09/28 Carlos Ramirez-Segura, 31, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced for illegally reentering the United States after deportation.
09/25 Jeremy Noe, age 26 of Omaha, was sentenced to 84 months imprisonment for distributing and possessing child pornography.
09/25 For having committed Wire Fraud in 2004, Mark A. Mehner was sentenced to serve 36 months in prison.
09/25 Marcus Green sentenced to 77 months imprisonment following his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
09/25 Devin Enriques, age 24 of Omaha, was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Bank Robbery, one count of Bank Robbery, and one count of Use of a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence, i.e., Bank Robbery.
09/22 Jayne Weber was sentenced to serve 24 months in prison after having pled guilty to one count of Wire Fraud.
09/21 For being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm on February 13, 2009, Gregory Allen Triggs was sentenced to serve 6 months in prison.
09/21 Siyad Warsame Ali, 35, a citizen of Somalia, was sentenced for aiding in the preparation of false United States Individual Income Tax Returns.
09/18 For having been a Felon in Possession of a Firearm on December 12, 2008, Brandon D Patterson was sentenced to serve 36 months in prison.
09/18 John Forrest, also know as John Forrest Rothermel, was sentenced to a 15 year term of imprisonment following his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
09/18 Guadalupe Curiel-Cardenas was sentenced to a 5 month term of imprisonment following his conviction for illegally reentering the United States after a deportation or removal order was entered and with fraud relating to identification documents.
09/16 A Lincoln woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine in Lincoln between January of 2005 and September of 2008.
09/14 Following his conviction for Possession of a Short Shotgun on December 30, 2008, Johnny P. Jones was sentenced to serve 51 months in prison.
09/14 Kevin Boslau was found guilty by a United States District Court jury of disposing of firearms to a person he knew to be a felon and also of making false statements in connection with the acquisition of a firearm.

09/04 Jeremy Nance was sentenced to a term of 120 months in prison, following
his conviction by a jury of one count of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and two counts of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.
09/03 Michael Weaver sentenced to 151 months imprisonment following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
09/03 David J. Hernandez was sentenced to 235 months imprisonment following his conviction for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute more than 50 grams of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Forfeiture.
09/03 Tyrone Ford was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment following his conviction for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute more than 5 grams of Crack Cocaine.
09/02 A Lincoln man was sentenced to 11 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in the Lincoln area over approximately a three-year time period.
09/01 Jerry J. Meysenburg, 36, of Columbus, Nebraska, was sentenced for receiving child pornography.
09/01 Andrew D. Buffkins was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment following his conviction for Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base.

August 2009

08/24 A twenty-four count indictment was unsealed charging Mary R. Wong, age
46 of Omaha, with various counts of Securities Fraud, Mail Fraud and Wire Fraud relating to a scheme to defraud investors out of millions of dollars.
08/21 Miguel Hernandez-Alonso was sentenced to a one year and one day term of imprisonment following his conviction for being an alien in possession of ammunition and using false identification documents.
08/21 Martha Lounsbury, a/k/a Martha Harms, sentenced to six years incarceration, pursuant to Lounsbury’s guilty plea on June 4, 2009 to the felony offense of mail fraud.
08/20 Dr. Richard M. Fleming was sentenced to five years probation with six months home detention, including electronic monitoring, and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $107,244.24 for the felony offenses of health care fraud and mail fraud.

08/14 A United States District Court jury deliberated for about one hour before concluding that A.J. Kelly was guilty of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm on April 21, 2008.
08/10 Martin Marquez was sentenced to 119 months imprisonment for the crime of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

08/06 A criminal complaint was filed charging Michael Hymes, age 29 of Council Bluffs, Iowa, with bank robbery in connection with the robbery of the First National Bank of Omaha branch located at 2930 South 24 Street on August 4, 2009.
08/06 Danny Soumpholphakdy was sentenced to 210 months imprisonment following his earlier conviction of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
08/06 Cody D. Larkins sentenced to eleven months in imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release for the felony offense of possession of a stolen firearm.
08/03 An Indictment was unsealed charging two Lincoln residents with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Lincoln between June of 2008 and April of 2009.
08/03 Rodrik J. Stone was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment following his conviction for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute more than 50 grams of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

July 2009

07/30 A one count indictment was unsealed alleging that Kevin Moore was involved in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine and crack in Nebraska.

07/29 April Buffum was sentenced to four years and nine months in federal prison for possession of crack cocaine with the intent to deliver.
07/29 An Indictment was unsealed charging a Lincoln man with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in the Lincoln area between November of 2007 and February of 2009.
07/28 A one count indictment charging Peoria Brye with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine was unsealed on July 28.
07/24 Logan Saul sentenced to 46 months imprisonment and three years of supervised release following his conviction of assault with a deadly weapon.

05/28 Allison Klanecky was sentenced to a term of six months imprisonment and ordered to pay a $125,000 fine following his conviction for possession of unregistered grenade components.
05/28 An indictment was unsealed charging Natalie Booth-Merica with conspiring to distribute 50 grams or more of a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine in 2008.
05/27 Karrie Penfold was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in the Lincoln area.
05/26 United States Magistrate Judge David L. Piester unsealed a two count indictment alleging Jemaine Sidney possessed crack cocaine with the intent to deliver.

05/21 A Lincoln man was sentenced to a total of 13 years and one month in federal prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and two counts of using, carrying, or possessing a firearm in connection with a drug offense.
05/18 Bryant D. Finney was sentenced to a term of 60 months in prison following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
05/18 Donnell Chaney was sentenced to a term of 120 months in prison following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
05/18 Georgetta Bothwell was sentenced to 110 months imprisonment following her conviction for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute more than 50 grams of Methamphetamine.
05/12 Santiago Lopez-Mendoza sentenced to 12 years, 7 months in prison for his conviction of possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
05/08 A criminal complaint was filed against Danny Reaves, age 34 of Omaha.
Reaves is charged with the May 1, 2009, robbery of a Rochester Armored car near 7414 North 30th Street in Omaha.
05/06 Brandon Crago was sentenced to 30 years in prison for conspiracy to sell methamphetamine in the Lincoln area between February of 2007 and January of 2008.
05/05 Antonio Rigberto Frausto was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
05/05 Shad Leroy Butterfield sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to deliver.
05/04 Jesus Vasquez-Alvarez sentenced to 78 months imprisonment for his guilty plea to being an illegal alien found in the United States following deportation and conviction of an aggravated felony.

April 2009

04/30 An indictment was unsealed charging a Lincoln couple, John and Tami
Rieck, with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine over approximately a two-year period and three counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
04/30 For having been an Illegal Drug User in Possession of a Firearm on March 3, 2008, Kenneth B. Jones was sentenced to serve 27 months in prison.
04/29 Melanie Bermunez was sentenced to an 18 month term of imprisonment following her conviction for Manufacturing Counterfeit Currency.
04/28 Carlos Lopez-Lepe was sentenced to 120 months for the crime of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.
04/27 Jerry Lynn Simons, 32, was sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender.
04/27 For having been a Felon in Possession of a Firearm on July 26, 2008, Merrell Nathaniel Devers was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison.

04/22 Gary Zierke, Jr. sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 30 years today following Mr. Zierke’s conviction for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
04/22 Jared Mason, age 23, and Donnell Smith, age 22, both of Omaha, have been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with the armed robbery of a United States Post Office located at 2910 State Street, Omaha, NE.
04/20 Donald Whitewater sentenced to 21 months in prison and three years of supervised release for his conviction of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
04/14 Daniel Kleve, 24, of Hubbard, Nebraska, was sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender.
04/10 A federal jury convicted Torone Russell of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine as well as two counts of possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute.
04/07 Jose Luis Rodriguez sentenced to 14 years in federal prison following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
04/06 Ray Van Norman was sentenced to a period of five years supervised release and ordered to make restitution in the amount of $5.7 million after being convicted of Bank Fraud.

04/03 Midwest Farm Service Company, Inc. (Midwest Farm Service), was sentenced today for a criminal violation of regulations promulgated pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.

March 2009

03/23 Grand Jury indictments
03/20 A federal Grand Jury returned a series of indictments charging Jason Hawthorne, Michael Davis, Chad Winters, Kenny Dofner, Gregory Stanek, Bradford Winnie, Jeffrey Welker and Justin Snelling with multiple drug and firearms offenses arising from their alleged involvement in methamphetamine and marijuana distribution.
03/20 Indictments and informations have been filed charging several people with the unlawful taking of bald eagles, and illegal purchase, possession and sale of eagle and redtail hawk feathers.
03/19 Clifford Shafer sentenced to 100 months imprisonment
following his conviction for distribution of methamphetamine and two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
03/18 A Lincoln man was sentenced to three years in prison for conspiracy to sell crack cocaine and powder cocaine in the
Lincoln area.
03/18 Carlos Loverboy Silva sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for his role in conspiring to distribute crack cocaine in the Lincoln area.
03/18 Jesus Mendivil and Fabiola Bernal, codefendants in a drug
conspiracy case, were both sentenced on March 11, 2009.
03/17 Zachary Noble sentenced to a 360 month prison term following Noble’s plea to producing child pornography.
03/17 Crossroads Cooperative Association (Crossroads) was sentenced today for a criminal violation of regulations promulgated pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
03/16 Anthony Key was sentenced to 12 years and 7 months
incarceration following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
03/13 Craig A. Workman was charged in a four count Information with willful failure to file an income tax return for the calendar years 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004.
03/12 Tufly Commercial, LLC, a Nebraska corporation, engaged in the business of drywall installation for commercial and residential properties, entered a plea of guilty to a felony charge of harboring aliens.
03/09 Joseph Risher, 39, was sentenced for possessing child pornography.
03/09 Jesus Ixta-Salazar was sentenced to 235 months imprisonment following his conviction for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, being an Illegal Alien in Possession of a Firearm, and two counts of Criminal
Forfeiture.
03/05 An indictment has been unsealed charging Jeffrey VanVelson with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and the Forfeiture of $1021 in
U.S. Currency.
03/05 Orville Dean Myers sentenced to 24 months imprisonment
following his conviction for failing to register as a sex offender.

03/03 A Lincoln woman was sentenced to ten years and one month in prison for her involvement in a conspiracy to sell methamphetamine in the Lincoln area.
03/03 Tabatha Adams was sentenced to a 30 year term of imprisonment for producing and manufacturing child pornography.
03/02 Trenton Smith was sentenced to 24 months in prison following his conviction for unlawful possession of a short shotgun and machinegun.
