Prevention and detection of fraud, waste and abuse of federal funds involves the public who become aware of misuse of the stimulus funding.

Safe Community Coalition:

In 2007, Oklahoma City was selected by the United States Department of Justice Comprehensive Anti-Gang Initiative to receive a $2.5 million grant to combat gang violence and promote prevention efforts to keep communities and neighborhoods safe.

Tribal Initiatives

Victim Witness Assistance:

Every U.S. Attorney's Office has a Victim-Witness Assistance Program to assist victims of federal crimes. The Program seeks to provide information on rights and services to victims and witnesses of federal crimes, and to encourage the participation of victims in the criminal justice system in accordance with federal law.

Weed & Seed:

In 1991, the Department of Justice established the Weed & Seed program to assist communities in dealing with neighborhoods that had been hard hit by violent crime, drug and gang activity, and the erosion of social and economic stability that accompany those problems.
