Carlie Christensen is currently the U.S. Attorney in the District of Utah. She has previously served as the Interim U.S. Attorney, the First Assistant U.S. Attorney, and the Chief of the Civil Division. Prior to her appointment as an AUSA, she was employed as General Counsel for the Utah Administrative Office of the Courts and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Utah Attorney General's Office where she worked in the Litigation Division and the Human Resources Division.
Ms. Christensen is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. She has been the recipient of the Christine M. Durham Utah Woman Lawyer of the Year Award, the Distinguished Service Award from the Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the United States Attorney's Award For Outstanding Service. Ms. Christensen previously served as the President of the David K. Watkiss - Sutherland Inn of Court and the Salt Lake County Bar Association and as a Panel Chair and Vice Chair on the Utah Supreme Court's Ethics and Disciplinary Committee.
Ms. Christensen received her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College.
