Dana J. Boente

Mr. Boente is a twenty-nine year veteran of the Department of Justice, joining the Department in 1984 at the conclusion of a clerkship with a United States District Court Judge.  From 1984 to 1999, Mr. Boente was a Trial Attorney with the Department of Justice’s Tax Division.  In January 2000, Mr. Boente became an Assistant United States Attorney in the Fraud Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA).  In August 2005, Mr. Boente was detailed back to the Tax Division to serve as the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General.  He returned to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in EDVA when he was selected as the First Assistant United States Attorney in May 2007.  In December, 2012, Mr. Boente went to serve as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana.  He returned to the Eastern District of Virginia in September 2013, where he is now serving as the U.S. Attorney.
