Salary Information

The Executive Office for United States Trustees Program uses several pay scales in establishing salaries of government employees, including the General Schedule, the Administratively Determined Pay Plan, and Senior Executive Service.

General Schedule (GS)

For positions which use the General Schedule for salary assignment, updated scales are available on the Office of Personnel Management Web site.

Administratively Determined (AD) Pay Plan

The Administratively Determined (AD) Pay Plan is a component-specific compensation system for Assistant United States Trustees and United States Trustees established under authority of 28 United States Code § 587, and 5 United States Code § 301, Salaries, and approved by the Attorney General. Pay for performance is a key component of the AD pay plan.

General Information

  • United States Trustee Positions will have a fixed administratively determined salary at Level IV of the Executive Schedule minus $2500.
  • Assistant United States Trustees will be administratively determined based on the General Schedule pay scale equal to percentage adjustments in base salaries, up to Level IV of the Executive Schedule minus $2600.
  • Initial Salary for Assistant U.S. Trustees may be set between the minimum and maximum rate based on the candidate's background, the size of the office, and comparable AUST salaries.
