Law Enforcement Coordination

In the Eastern District of Kentucky,  law enforcement coordination is critical to furthering the mission of the Department. In EDKY, our Law Enforcement Coordinator's  (LEC) goal is to improve cooperation and coordination among law enforcement groups thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the criminal justice system; to provide training opportunities for law enforcement that enables them to increase and maintain a professional edge in the performance of their duties for the battle against criminal activity; and to foster the spirit of law enforcement brotherhood so that law enforcement personnel at all levels accept each other as the professionals they are and should be.

In addition to training, the LEC works to enhance coordination and cooperation among all law enforcement agencies. The Law Enforcement Coordinator is involved in a variety of programs and initiatives. These include Appalachia HIDTA, Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC), Project Safe Childhood (PSC); Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN); Reentry; community outreach, and other drug and crime prevention programs.
