Appellate Division

The Appellate Division

The Appellate Division is comprised of two AUSAs, including its Chief.  Most but not all of the Appellate Division’s workload comes out of the Criminal Division.  The Appellate Division: handles affirmative appeals brought by the office as appellee; prepares or reviews briefs and responsive pleadings in which the office appears as appellant; handles, assigns and prepares attorneys for all oral arguments; and prepares or reviews responses to collateral attacks on convictions.
