Civil Rights Program

The Office’s Civil Rights Program helps enforce federal civil rights laws within the Northern District of West Virginia. The scope of federal civil rights protections is broad, and includes laws aimed at addressing housing discrimination, equal educational opportunities, disability access, and more.

LECC

The Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee sponsors and co-sponsors training seminars for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies addressing a variety of subjects.

Project Safe Childhood Icon

Project Safe Childhood (PSC) is a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 that aims to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. The threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of perpetrators who produce, distribute, and possess child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing.

Project Safe Neighborhoods

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is a nationwide commitment to reduce gun and gang crime in America by networking existing local programs that target gun and gun crime and providing these programs with additional tools necessary to be successful.

Elder Justice

Elder abuse can take shape in many forms. Whether it is physical abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, or financial abuse, millions of older Americans fall victim to elder abuse every year. As some of our most respected members of our communities, our seniors deserve better. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of West Virginia is committed to protecting one of our most cherished and valued resources, our seniors.

Victim Witness Assistance

The Victim Witness Assistance Unit provides assistance to victims and witnesses of federal crimes while they are involved with the criminal justice system. The U.S. Attorney's Office is dedicated to assisting the victims of the crimes prosecuted by our office, as well as supporting witnesses who assist us in those prosecutions.

Environmental Justice

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia enforces federal laws to protect environmental quality and human health in all communities within the district.
