2026 Youth Summit “Unleashing You”

Community Outreach Coordinator Khalilah Escalera participated in the 5th annual “Unleashing You” youth summit in Orlando coordinated by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Office of Prevention Services. More than 450 teens, chaperones, and community partners participated in the event aimed at empowering and educating youth. The primary goals of the youth summit are to promote educational workshops, discuss safety and awareness topics, and recognize achievements.  Information was shared about the Department and USAO-MDFL priorities, including discussions on Human Trafficking, Online Safety, Drug Awareness & Prevention, Gun & Gang Violence Prevention Strategies. Participants also signed and participated in the National Pledge Against Gun Violence.
