Thank you, Mike for that kind introduction.  More importantly, thank you for your leadership running Northern California’s HIDTA and the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center.  Thank you for more than 20 years of service in law enforcement.

Thank you, Rod, for that kind introduction and thank you for your outstanding leadership as Deputy Attorney General and your nearly 30 years of service to this Department.

Today I am announcing another economic espionage case against Chinese interests.

And before I do that I want to remind everyone that the defendants in this case—as in every case—are innocent until proven guilty.

I am announcing that a grand jury in San Francisco has returned an indictment alleging economic espionage on the part of a Chinese state-owned, government owned, company, a Taiwan company, and three Taiwan individuals for an alleged scheme to steal trade secrets from Micron, an Idaho-based semi-conductor company.

Thank you Andy for that kind introduction, for your 18 years of service to the Department of Justice and for your leadership as United States Attorney. I think that you’ll agree with me that it’s the best job in the world.

This is a law-and-order administration.  We will not tolerate such lawlessness, and especially not political violence.

Thank you, J.R. for that kind introduction and for your leadership both in the business world and with this historic organization.  I’m told that J.R. is also a proud son of two Alabamians, both graduates of the University of Alabama.

The day I was sworn in as Attorney General, President Trump sent me an order to dismantle transnational criminal organizations like the cartels. We have been faithful to that order every single day.

Thank you, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, for that introduction and thank you for your outstanding leadership at Main Justice. And thank you to Patrick and Adam for being here and for taking on this challenge.

Thank you, Attorney General Meese for that generous introduction.  It means a lot to me, especially coming from you.
