Christopher Tenorio

Christopher Tenorio served as the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Immigration Litigation from April 2021 to December 2024. Christopher previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney and Civil Rights Enforcement Coordinator in the Southern District of California, Counsel to Deputy Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., and a Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division’s Criminal Section. He began his career as a Trial Attorney with Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. His litigation experience includes 49 felony jury trials and 22 appellate oral arguments before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Christopher has received the Attorney General’s John Marshall Award, the Director’s Award for Superior Performance as a Criminal Assistant U.S. Attorney, the San Diego Crime Commission’s Blue Knight Award, and the Innovator of the Year Award from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of California. Christopher is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of San Diego School of Law.
