
Jeffrey Grimming
Jeffrey Grimming was the Director of INTERPOL Washington, overseeing all operational and administrative activities globally for the U.S. National Central Bureau. He previously served as the Deputy Director.
Prior to INTERPOL Washington, Mr. Grimming served as the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) senior field official for international operations in the Caribbean region, overseeing offices covering 28 foreign countries and nine (9) U.S. Missions.
While in the Caribbean, Mr. Grimming developed the Caribbean Firearms Initiative. The architecture of the initiative assisted in addressing and focusing resources to counter the smuggling of U.S.-origin firearms and ammunition in the region.
Previously, Mr. Grimming served on details to the DHS Joint Task Force–East as the deputy director responsible for negotiating international partnership agreements leading to impactful initiatives in border security. Mr. Grimming also served as the acting deputy special agent in charge of HSI New England, overseeing offices in six northeastern states.
While at HSI headquarters, Mr. Grimming served in leadership roles overseeing agency-wide efforts as the chief of the Extraterritorial Criminal Travel Strikeforce – a partnership with the Department of Justice’s Human Rights and Special Prosecutions - targeting global human smuggling networks. Additionally, Mr. Grimming held roles in HSI’s Undercover Operations, overseeing policy, budget, and the Undercover Review Committee.
In the field, Mr. Grimming served as a special agent and then as a supervisory special agent in HSI San Diego, responsible for a certified undercover operations group targeting smuggling and transportation networks involved in the international movement of narcotics and bulk currency.
Mr. Grimming began his career in 1997 as a police officer/detective at the City of Plantation, Florida Police Department and then as a special agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Mr. Grimming received a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Criminology, and is a graduate of the Key Executive Leadership Program from American University in Washington, D.C.
