1106. Approval Considerations for Murder-for-Hire Indictments

Although no longer required by Department policy, prosecutors are encouraged to submit a copy of returned indictments to the Terrorism and Violent Crime Section, Criminal Division, Room 2513, 10th and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Department of Justice, Washington, D.C. 20530, so that a central repository of materials on murder-for-hire may be maintained. (The prior approval for murder-for-hire was eliminated in June 1995.) In addition, the attorney are encouraged to keep the Terrorism and Violent Crime Section informed of any unusual legal problems that arise in the course of the case, so those problems can be considered in providing guidance to other prosecutors.
