United States v. John Kyle Muller
24-CR-00036 (PAB) (D. Colo.)
On April 12, 2024, Mr. John Kyle Muller pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud in the District of Colorado.
Muller and his co-conspirators mailed millions of fraudulent prize notices that led victims to believe that they had been individually selected to receive a large cash prize and would receive their prize if they paid a $20 to $50 fee. However, no victim ever received a large cash prize from Muller or his co-conspirators. Instead, victims received a “report” describing sweepstakes opportunities or a trinket of minimal value. After victims responded to one fraudulent prize notice, Muller and his co-conspirators inundated them with many additional fraudulent mailings. Muller also provided victims’ contact information to others in the fraudulent mass-mailing industry.
Muller will remain free on bond until his sentencing hearing, which is currently scheduled for November 1, 2024.
