Update 2/29/08:

 

On February 28, 2008, a federal grand jury in Denver, Colorado, returned a 10-count odometer fraud indictment against Roch Allen Croteau of Loveland, Colorado.  The indictment alleges that from 2003 through 2007, Croteau purchased older, high-mileage motor vehicles at wholesale auto auctions, caused the odometers to be rolled back to reflect false, lower mileages, then re-sold the vehicles at other wholesale auctions in the Denver area.

Charges in an indictment are only allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. See US Attorney's Office Press Release, 2/8/08, at

Update 3/14/08:

On March 13, 2008, Roch Croteau pled not guilty to the charges listed in the Indictment. The Court set a trial date of April 21, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., in courtroom A901 before the Hon. Marcia S. Krieger. The courthouse is located at 901 19th Street in Denver, Colorado.

Update 4/10/08:

On April 8, 2008, the Court continued trial in this matter to August 25, 2008, at 8:30 a.m.  The trial will be held in the same location as listed above.

Update 9/8/08:

Trial in this matter is now set to begin at 1:00 p.m. on October 20, 2008, at the same location listed above.

Update 11/25/08:

On October 17, 2008, Judge Marcia S. Krieger entered a judgment of acquittal as to Roch Croteau.

Update 3/26/09:

No change in status.
