Yaakov M. Roth
Yaakov Roth serves as the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Division. Prior to joining the Department, Mr. Roth was a partner at Jones Day in Washington, D.C. in its Issues & Appeals practice, focusing on appellate advocacy and dispositive motions. He has argued more than 40 appeals in the federal Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Roth clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit for Chief Judge Michael Boudin and on the Supreme Court of the United States for Justice Antonin Scalia. Mr. Roth graduated summa cum laude from Harvard Law School.
