The Land Acquisition Section secured sites for the expansion of Cape Cod National Seashore. Established by Congress in 1966, the Seashore encompasses 44,600 acres of sandy beaches, high cliff dunes, ponds, woods, and marshes stretching from Provincetown to Chatham, Massachusetts. This stretch of land was the first sighted by Pilgrims on the Mayflower after 65 days at sea.
