On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit rejected all petitions for rehearing in cases challenging a land exchange that is necessary for the Resolution Copper project in Arizona. The order leaves in place the March 13 decision by the court’s panel, which allowed the federal government to proceed with a congressionally mandated land exchange crucial to advancing development of one of the largest known copper deposits in the world.
Today, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the University of Delaware for violating federal law by prioritizing the needs of illegal aliens over U.S. citizens in defiance of Congress’s commands. The Department is challenging the University of Delaware’s policy which grants in-state tuition for illegal aliens while denying reduced tuition to U.S. citizens. This policy unconstitutionally discriminates against U.S. citizens who are not afforded the same reduced tuition rate, which is in direct conflict with federal law.
Today, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the State of Maryland, Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown, the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission, Prince George’s County, and Montgomery County, challenging their unconstitutional attempt to regulate federal law enforcement officers by prohibiting federal officers from wearing masks and requiring they provide identification in the manner prescribed by Md. Code Ann., Pub. Safety §§ 3-207, 3-535, 3-536, Prince George’s Co., Md Code § 18-124, and Montgomery Co., Md. Code § 35-13E.

The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division announced today investigative findings that the University of California-Los Angeles School of Law (UCLA Law) discriminated against white and Asian students in granting admission to its 2023, 2024, and 2025 incoming classes. UCLA Law’s discriminatory conduct violates Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race or color, and the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2023 decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. Ashton Hamed Ellaboudy, 51, a resident of Richland, Washington, was arrested this morning and charged with attempting to provide material support or resources to the Houthis, a designated foreign terrorist organization.
