The Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus Program (Campus Program) encourages institutions of higher education to develop and strengthen effective security and investigation strategies to combat domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking on campus; develop and strengthen victim services in cases involving such crimes on campus; and develop and strengthen prevention education and awareness programs.

Funding information

The Campus Program supports institutions of higher education to develop or strengthen comprehensive approaches to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Campus-wide coordinated responses should involve campus/community victim service providers, law enforcement/campus safety officers, health providers, housing officials, administrators, student leaders, faith-based leaders, representatives from student organizations, and campus disciplinary personnel. Campus responses must also link to local off-campus criminal justice agencies and victim service providers, including local law enforcement agencies, prosecutors’ offices, courts, and nonprofit, nongovernmental victim advocacy and services organizations.

  • Project award amounts are up to $400,000

Strengthening Culturally Specific Campus approaches

The Campus Program also supports a special initiative called Strengthening Culturally Specific Campus Approaches to Address Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking. This initiative supports HBCUs, HSIs, and TCUs to strengthen their institutional response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking on campus.

Eligible applicants

Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education in the United States and U.S. territories, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), and other minority-serving institutions.
