COLUMBIA, South Carolina ---- United States Attorney Bill Nettles stated today that a “call-in meeting” will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:30 pm at the Conway Recreation Center, 1515 Mill Pond Road, Conway, SC  29526.  This meeting is open to the public.  The program, “C-S.T.A.N.D”  an acronym for “Conway – Starting Toward A New Direction”  is an application of the Drug Market Intervention program, coordinated by the United States Attorney’s Office and most recently utilized in the Charleston Farms community in North Charleston beginning in 2011.  This initiative is a unified, proactive approach that bands together local, state and federal law enforcement with community partners in an effort to eradicate open drug dealing in a multiple block area of Conway.  In addition to the federal and state arrests effected last Thursday, several letters, in lieu of arrest warrants, were delivered by law enforcement to lower level targets notifying them of the meeting.
