Press Release
OKLAHOMA CITY – Today, JULIO GIRON-RAMIREZ, 26, of Guatemala, was charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding a federal officer with a dangerous weapon, announced U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
According to an affidavit filed in support of a criminal complaint, on August 3, 2025, officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Giron-Ramirez, an illegal alien. Giron-Ramirez failed to stop and sped away from authorities. ICE continued to pursue Giron-Ramirez and attempted another traffic stop. Giron-Ramirez then rammed his vehicle into the front end of an ICE vehicle and left the scene. Giron-Ramirez later left his vehicle and fled on foot. Law enforcement located and arrested Giron-Ramirez a short time later.
If found guilty, Giron-Ramirez faces up to 20 years in federal prison, and a fine of up to $250,000.
The public is reminded this charge is merely an allegation, and that Giron-Ramirez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
This case is the result of an investigation by ICE-ERO, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Oklahoma City Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Hale is prosecuting the case.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
